Forget the Duesenbergs and Bugattis and Talbot Lagos; this is the car to look for.
As I !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! a few weeks ago, I’m going to be driving to Michigan next week with my brother and dad for the Concours d’Elegance of America at St. John’s in Plymouth. I will be up there for all three days of the event (Friday-Sunday) and would love to meet as many fellow Oppos as possible. I know a few of you have said that the potential for bad weather has you on the fence about going, but if you are going to be there, let me know. When you get there, look for our white X3 with Nebraska plates and the OPPO sticker in the back window. We may try to visit the Henry Ford Museum while we’re in the area. Also, we’re driving from Detroit to St. Louis immediately following the show, so if you’re in St. Louis and want to say “Hi,”, let me know that as well. Like I said, I’ll be with my family, but they are also cool and totally not scam artists or kidnappers...I hope.

I might be there, if I don’t have to go to my half-brother’s funeral.....But I probably should go.. -_-

We’ll be at a concert Friday night and I’ll be competing on Saturday (I’m just amazing at planning like that), but highly recommend cruising Woodward Ave if you get the chance Friday or Saturday evening. Depending on my mobility post-Strongwoman comp, we may make it out to Woodward Saturday and possibly Concours on Sunday.

We’ll try to make it to Woodward. We may also try to go to the Henry Ford museum on Saturday.

Thanks. I’d already plans to go to the Concours with my mom as she’s never been, and I’d gone last year. It’s awesome, the cars there.

Just checked the forecast again. Looks like Sunday has a lesser chance of rain than Saturday. I’ll plan for Sunday, then.

Do you know what the procedure is for inclement weather? Do they reschedule, delay, cancel, or just go ahead?

I’ve never attended before, to be honest. The website doesn’t say anything about rain, but I’m glad I checked, because apparently they moved guest parking to the local high school. Good to know.

I just got off the phone with the office. It’s on, rain or shine. “Never been rained out in thirty years.”

On a different note, I didn’t know you could get an X3 with those wheels, or did you guys swap those on? I like the subtle concave design mixed with all of those double spokes!

We swapped them on, they came off of an early-00's 7-Series. These are the original wheels, they are currently serving snow tire duty:

If you’re in town Saturday, check out Pasteiner’s Cars and Coffee. (14 Mile & woodward Avenue, Birmingham Michigan) 8:00am-10:00am. Get there early to get a good spot to park.

Is that also where the Woodward “stuff” will be happening that evening?

Yes...it’s a great venue to “sit on the wall” and watch what comes out.
Here’s a classic pic of the place from 2007. It was originally called “Auto Zone” ( Nothing to do with the Auto Parts store chain...now called Pasteiner’s )
